A wonderful recording of my story “Judgment of Swords and Souls” is now live at PodCastle. This story is set in the same world (“The Crescent Moon Kingdoms”) as my forthcoming novel THRONE OF THE CRESCENT MOON. Thanks to Stephanie Morris for a lovely reading!

Awesome! It'll have popped right into my iTunes podcast feed thing by the time I get home. I shall listen to it!

Totally cool to meet you by the way. Next time, maybe a group of us could do dinner or lunch or even breakfast in the con suite or something!

Yes actually sitting down and having a meal would be nice. Worldcon? You're not far from ConFusion in January either. Pat Rothfuss, Jim Hines, Peter Brett, Joe Abercrombie, Brett Weeks, and Robin Hobb. It's gonna be awesome! http://confusion.stilyagi.org/

As you moved to the Midwest, so am I moving to the East Coast. (D'oh!) I'll be at World Fantasy this year, and at ReaderCon in July, but I don't think I'll be attending many cons next year. Freshly moved and on the job-search and all. :) It'll happen.

That was wonderful! (I just listened to it.)

Is Layla in Throne of the Crescent Moon? Perhaps featured on the cover? I'd love to read the rest of her story.

Layla appears again in Book II as a sort of villain/antihero, Red Layla. Much Wire-Fu ensues.

I'm glad you liked the story. A lot of people found this one too prologue-y. WHich it is, but I had hoped it would be enjoyable enough in its own right as well.

Anywho. The young lady on the cover, in back-cover copy-ese, is:

"Zamia Badawi: Protector of the Band, has been gifted with the near-mythical power of the Lion-Shape, but shunned by her people for daring to take up a man’s title. She lives only to avenge her father's death. Until she learns that Adoulla and his allies also hunt her father’s killer. Until she meets Raseed."

Thanks for listening!
